Hi there Very nice photo's, how lucky you are having that species growing in your backyard! Do you plan to make any sporeprints? You should clone some of those fruits inski.

I bet weilii is a good candidate for starting a culture from stem butts on cardboard (as outlined in Mycelium Running).

Yes that would probably work well! I would clone to peroxidated agar then inoculate sterilized sawdust or fine woodchips, then I would spawn to an outdoor bed! Wish I had a print, maybe someone would like to do a trade sometime, pm me. The_Red_Crayon, was just wondering if those specimens grew naturally in your backyard or did you create the patch somehow? inski.

I created the patch by harvesting wild mycelium and transferring it to my patch.

I'm guessin your in the Atlanta area. Anybody seeing weili outside of Georgia yet? Seems to me that a patch like that should be able to live throughout most of the southeast if taken care of.

It's surprising to me how similar those young weili look to very young cubensis. The coloration is obviously darker but the shape is so similar.

Ive had tremendous success with cedar chips, any acidic plant material. Sweet gums, pine cones, pinestraw, and of course georgia red clay.
