How to dispose of contaminated jars?

I picked up somewhere that you should autoclave contaminated substrate before throwing out (makes sense).
Would it be cool to use the same pressure cooker to cook contaminated jars before throwing out, that is use to cook food in? (Seems suspect to me.)
How would most of the home growers dispose of contamination?

Sure. You can also take them outside to empty, then rinse out with the hose. Or, just loosen the caps a bit and drop them into water you then bring to a boil. They don't need to be pc'd, just boiling will kill off the contaminant spores. RR

I just open it up and dump it into a bag then go outside and put it in the garbage can. Green mold isn't a big threat to me and what other mold are you really going to get?

It will be if you keep that up.

I take mine outside. Do you ever get the really green ones, that when you open them they make a cloud of green smoke. I would never consider opening them in the house.
