mix 3:1:1 verm:flour:water. Maybe SLIGHTLY more water but not much. mix it all up in a large bowl 1st then scoop it into your jars
MIX WELL
MIX WELL
MIX WELL
and dont jam it in there; pat it in there nicely; but not firmly; dont wanna crush your lil vermiculite pieces.
and please; do some reading for yourself. you dont realize how much of an arse youre making yourself look like by posting these types of questions. getting started off on the wrong foot will probably get you flamed; to say the least.

You really need to read the PF Tek !!!!
You need to mix the Brown Rice Flour with the Verm.
This is what you should do :
2 cups Verm
1 cup Brown Rice Flour
1 cup of Water
Get a bowl......Put 2 cups of verm in the bowl and mix in the 1 cup water.
Mix this up really good.....then add the 1 cup of Brown Rice Flour.
Mix it all up really good.
Take a spoon and fill up your 1/2 Pint jars......leave the top 1/2" empty.
Wipe any wet substrate from the lip of the jar.
Now fill the rest of the jar up with dry Verm....this is important.
Put your filter disc on.....if you have one.
Then put your lid on the jar......make sure the sealed side is away from the jar lip.
Then either pressure cook or boil your jars.
Good luck.....and please read the PF Tek

Mix 1/2 cup verm to 1/4 cup water and mix. Then add 1/4 cup brf. You want the verm to soak up the water first so that the flour coats the peices of verm. Otherwize you'll have clumps of solid brf and not know it if they are the same size as the peices of coated verm. The top half inch should be verm only.

because it doesnt say add water to verm and brf.. it just says to put it in the jars
but it does say to add 1/4 of water to every jar.. but only to the spores then put it in the jars

oops! I didn't know you were three minutes ahead of me Road! Looks like we seem to have the same plan though.
It's just not worth what little time is saved by throwing it all in there together.

k this is what I'm following...
The Process
Put 2/3 cups vermiculite and 1/4 cups Brown rice flower in 1/2 pint jar.
Put jar(s) in pan and boil them with the lid on.
Boil a little more than 1/4 cups water for every jar in the smaller pan, cover the pan TIGHTLY with foil.
Let both pan's boil for about 30 minutes.
Let everything cool for about 2 hours.
Poke hole through the foil of the smaller pan and inject about 1cc for every jar you are going to inoculate.
Sterilize measuring cup in microwave, once its done imediatly cover the top with foil. let it cool for a while.
Use a sterile syringe to suck up the inoculated water and shoot it into the measuring cup through a hole made in the foil.
Suck up the right amounts (1/4 cup per jar) of inoculated water from the measuring cup and realease it into the jars.
Shake up the jars to evenly distibute the innoculated water.
in there it doesnt mention anything about adding water to the verm.
i know in the other faq it does, so should i add water in this one anyway, even if it doesnt tell me to?

Follow what i told you to do......geezzzz
You have to add water to the verm and BRF before you cook the substrate!!!!
Now go back up and read it again !!!!!

Man I have to agree that compared to the tried and true method that we rely on that sound like some twisted shit. But it has some very interesting points. First off, if you don't mix the water with the verm first, it clumps the brf. But with that method, since there's no water when it mixes, there nothing to clump the brf together and it should mix evenly. The oddest and maybe best thing is that it mixes the spore solution in with the cool substrate water. Which means that every where that the water travels, it takes spores with it, all through the jar. Which could substaintally speed up colonization. Another ajustment that I just thought of is that you could shoot each hole twice. Once against the glass and once toward the center of the jar so that the substrate doesn't filter the spores to one place as it seeps deeper Sounds crazy but I think just tempting enough to risk a couple of jars just as a test. Just my thoughts.

This is like doing a cake, if you want a chocolate cake you follow the damn recipe, if you want a pudin you follow the pudin recipe. Now, you want to do a BRF&Verm PF style cake so stick with PF procedures and it will be fine. Read as many you can and then make your questions.
BTW, don't start flaming people, most of us are here to help, besides flamers in this paricular forum are not welcome.
Peace,
