It does appear as if the Mycelia isn?t Growing outta control as it did in the last expiriment. Is that the case or is it about on the same timeline?

The mycelium is a lot slower than last time. Keep in mind this is the colonisation stage while the pics from last time were after colonisation of the substrate. I do think that mycelium grows slower on compost than on a flour substrate. I could be wrong though.
Late 4/6
Original tray, this one is in the fruiting chamber. I will case it later.

I was playing soccer with shoes that were too small. The salesman advised me to buy a size down as my shoes would stretch to comfort and provide better feeling for the ball. When I would come to a stop from running on the feild my toes would jam against the end of my shoe and jam my toenails into my nail bed. They turned black and fell out. They are just now reaching their original length again. They are a bit funky now.
So..yes I have sort of toe jam type toenails right now.

Yipee!
I have a pin emerging from my casing, and check it out no colonisation of the casing layer. Yes, these are Puertos. My secret? Allow full colonisation of substrate, case and immediately start light cycle. Snobrdr311 brought up this idea quite a while ago.
I was going to let the pins from the last picture mature but changed my mind. I cased this on the 9th.
I am 24
Enjoy!

HAHAHAHAHA!
I see the simularity. Maybe I should keep the toes out of my posts. What you see is in fact crushed oyster shell.

hey josh quick question. I?m using the same strain and my jars are almost fully colonized. What are the advantages of casing then immediatly starting the light cycle? is it because puertos are more aggresive than other strains?? Thanks for the feedback.

Yes. This strain grows very strong. Most people have problems w/ overlay. You can see how I had overlay in the past w/ Puertos, search for "Puerto Ricans" in this forum. Good luck w/ yours!

Unfortunately the pin aborted[image]/forums/w3timages/icons/sad.gif[/image]. When removing the pin I did however see several others coming up[image]/forums/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/image]. I have watered the casing and hope the others will have better luck. I will post an update as soon as they are looking decent.
This was taken yesterday.
This log was unsuccessful. I believe this is due to the poor quality compost Dr. B was offering. I have several projects that yeilded the same results. The compost would colonise very slow and often not completely. When fruiting was initiated I found many aborts. I have been having excellent results using horse dung.
