Dry ice?
    #5853614 - 07/13/06 01:42 AM (17 years, 6 months ago)

I thought about using dry ice in the fruiting chamber because it would make the humidity high when it melts but not creat a lot of excess water in the bottom. Has this been thought of yet and/or would this be a good idea?

Exactly... Dry Ice produces massive amounts of CO2, which is what the mushies produce as well. (Kinda defeats the purpose eh?) Get a humidifier or just stick to misting and perlite.

CO2 is what you dont want. Lowered temperatures without added humidity is what you dont want. Dry Ice is solidified CO2 the gas your seeing vaporize is CO2. So your dropping the temperature without added more humidity and your adding much CO2 which is the main cause of all moulds and contaminants.
