Saying goodbye to grow chamber and humidification method

I'm posting a photo of my LAST grow using this type of chamber (and by LAST I mean that I will no longer be doing it this way) (I had 4 of them). Before I got smart by finding the Shroomery, this is how I would fruit both cakes and cased grain trays. To humidify I used a low power aqua heater in a modified apple juice jar and then placed the whole heater unit into a small plastic tub of water. The water would evaporate and keep the chamber humid. Also would keep the chamber warm in the winter. While it worked for me to some degree, this is not the best method. Controlling evaporative humidity is tiresome and never very exact. I never used perlite, geolite or hydroton, just put in the cakes on baking racks (if doing cakes, no racks for trays). I did pump a little air into the chamber or just fanned. Anyway off to getting the humidity right in my new Marthas now with a vicks coolmist. Seems like I got a good timer sequence working on the coolmist (83 to 95 % humid at the beginning and end of the timer cycle). But as I leave this method behind (and am new to the shroomery) I was wondering if anyone used evaporation like this for humidity. While it kept the humidity high I think it has a tendancy not to provide the best in-air watering. Your thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

I thought all in-air water was the same, but I could be wrong. I don't know.
-------------------- I don't think for myself. I think as though I'm explaining my thoughts to someone else. I'm concerned only for those listening.

Yes, I don't know either. I am posting this for the sake of understading that. In-air watering in coordination with spraying of casings and so forth. Hyphae's pinning posts have helped me, but I am still trying to understand more. Thanks.
