Brown rice flour jars, questions
    #5851295 - 07/12/06 04:13 PM (17 years, 6 months ago)

Hey all,

Just a quick question...I injected 12 jars of BRF and Vermi and 4 of the jars took off like rocket fuel was in them, 11 days and they are %95 colonized while the other 7 is %25-%50. Is it normal for some jars too do better then others??

Also just testing I injected one jar in the middle and it is %95 colonized, does that mean that once the outside is covered it should be %100 all the way thru right?? I think I am going to inject all of my jars in the middle from now on it worked out so well.

I am concerned though with the speed they colonized so I am going to post some pics and hope someone can tell if it is the good stuff.....or the bad, all I am worried about is cobweb because it is either cobweb mold or strong rizo....whatever that word is. Very white in color.

Sorry for the bad pics, best camara I have.

]

Some of the pics look gray in color but I was fooling around with color settings trying to get a clear pic.....any opinions would be greatly apprieciated

Looks great to me!

Yes.

> I think I am going to inject all of my jars in the middle from now on it worked out so well.

The problem with that is that contams often start at the injection sites, so if that is in the middle of the cake it will hide the fact that it is contaminated. You might get a ckae that looks fine, but has a big festery contam growing in the middle of it. That's probably not too much of a problem though as long as you reaslize that it might happen.

One more question, I think I remember that answer but to just double check, I can leave these jars in my incubator once they are %100 and let the rest catch up with no harm too them right?? or should I remove them and store them in a dark closet??

I case my stuff so the contam in the middle wouldnt be as big as a deal if I am breaking it up anyway right? I mean I would find it...I could see it too be a problem if I did cakes....anyway thanks for that thought I never considered that.

But man that one I injected in the middle did so good once it broke the surface.

Thanks for the input guys

once the outside finishes,
let it go for another couple of days to ensure the middle
is also colonized 100%.

once done, the first ones can be refridgerated to wait for the
slower ones to catch up.
so you can crumble and case them all together.

just give the refridgerated ones a day out of the fridge to
get themselves back up to room temp and caught up.

good luck with those.
nice growth.

Take your jars from the incubator when they are colonized. Leaving them in there will cause myc piss to form.

If the other jars are way behind then you should refrigerate the first ones or just birth them sooner.

I had BRF jars not ever fully colonize, maybe 95%. Read some where that when you birth it, just scrap off the part(s) that did not colonize....Have you tried Grain yet? BRF cakes gave me small ass fruits, Grain to horse poo gave me fruits about 10 times bigger! And its just as easy!

No I havent tried grain or poo yet, I want too get down the TEK that I learned first before I move on too new things.

I have built an tub in tub incubator and am in the process of building a monotub so if I manage to grow the jars I have now and get decent results I will feel comfortable moving on too other things.

My first grow in 2 flushes has given me about 175 wet grams so far and thats with making numerous newbie mistakes mostly to do with not having patiance and playing with things too much. Now that I know the growing process I am confident I will do much better with my next grow.

I however in my firsat flush did grow 5 that was a total of 121 wet grams with two shrooms== 28 and 30 grams I didnt think that was too bad.
