Hey everyone! Its been a while since I really completed anything.. but I finally got this track together. I'm quite happy with it. Ive been building up to this track for a good month (working out themes and chord progressions)
I was inspired to do this track after some studying of subatomic particles in environmental science and my nightly views of the moon with my little brother. (He has a telescope)
A few months ago I got a 2k organ from the 80's.. for 1$!! (I love you ebay) Anyhow.. its a pretty sick organ, SO much fun to play around with. I finally recorded it and it really has this 60's kind of sound. Hope you guys enjoy and throw in a word to let me know what you think

nice earthy sounds good composition too. Moviemusic-like: I could see this in the background of some lord of the rings like movie in an elf forest or something
Also kinda reminds me of "The Summoning", some sort of tolkien inspired ambient black metal band. Only this has no guitars or screams.

I love it initially due to its connections in my mind to two things i Love: the movie Contact and sharing samples from The Orb's "Supernova at the End of the Universe" (the astronaut's communication)
I'll focus on your strong suits. The unison between the two chord voices gives my ears a weird out of phase/echo effect, and I love it. I just now leaned in to really REALLY listen, and I love tunes that make me do that.
Once the first 'movement' passes, and the typical instruments lead into a more ambient soundscape, I become far more interested, for some reason. Maybe it was the percussive instrumentation, but something didn't really strike me during that section. The subsequent build up once the bass note kicks in... I really wanted it to snatch me by the balls and take me somewhere. I guess my ears get teased a little by a small dramatic crescendo, and I feel myself wanting it to go louder and bigger.
But as it continues, the resolution with the string arpeggios is quite triumphant and brilliant. Then once again I really wanted it to really take me somewhere, and I thought it was when I started hearing the arppegios going faster, but then they returned slower... that rocket SNAP at the very end that ceases everything would be far more dramatic if I was really falling into it, like the astronauts descending rapidly to earth and those arppegios were almost losing control they're going so fast....
I really like what you've got, and your composition skills are impressive! I think there's a few things you could do, or you could learn from as improvement on a new piece.
Definitely my two cents; and as artists we'd all do things a little differently. That makes for personal style, no?
Great job Toddo
