Possible Weed Replacement

I completely understand that saliva is a drug that has its own very unique characteristics. I have broken through a few times on extract, but whenever I smoked strait leaf it may have been an even more enjoyable experience. I believe that extracts should not be used for reacreation, but what about leaf. My experience was a mild stoning effect that I think would be used for reacreation, much like weed. My question is this, In your experiences has saliva leaf had similar effects as weed? If not, do you think it is a good reacreational drug?

Yes, I can relate with my two experiences with plain leaf. 0.25g and 0,39g dry leaf. It did create a stoned effect similiar to indica body stone but I disagree it being a recreational drug or weed replacement.
.. check the typo. "Salvia" not saliva. Thou, saliva is much better weed replacement than Salvia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saliva

I really wouldn't recommend Salvia as a weed replacement at all. It's just not the same. Think about what you like to do while smoking weed: having fun conversations with friends, watch movies, maybe even attend parties.
Salvia is conducive to none of those activities.
My personal suggestions for weed replacements (though these have their own issues) would be either poppy tea or kava kava. In my personal experience both of these are far more conducive to producing the same kind of experiences you get from weed, it's fun to take these and watch movies, talk with friends, and on lower doses with the poppy tea, even go to parties.

How about using caviar as a sushi replacement?
Salvia is many many times more psychedelic than weed. why not use a tiny dosage of LSD as a weed replacement?

What's low dosing on LSD like? I only high dosed on it and tripped for what seemed like days
it was my first time and I did 4 hits trying to be cool. sigh...
Oh and.
If you want a milder Salvia experience try a quid. Basically just rolled up leaves (the fresher the better).
They taste horrid be ready. I found it bitter. You basically keep it in your mouth like chew tobacco. It gives a mild high with slight "weed-like effects," however I don't think it will compare to some good bud.

A few times when I've smoked plain leaf I felt rather stoned like mj, but it only lasts for 15 minutes, so if you wanted to use it as a replacement, you'd have to smoke a lot of leaf material very frequently and that would not be good for your lungs, plus it wouldn't even be fun.

Tiny doses of LSD are described by some as "feeling like pot" but in my personal experience it's immesurably superior to it. It has all the desirable effects of pot with none of the suck and even though most won't call it tripping, you definitely are in expanded consciousness.

Salvia highs can be immeasurably pleasurable, and occassionally 'stony' -- especially on the come-down from a really intense trip. Even then, I can't say it's better than a few vaporizer hits of headies or one smooth gravity rip.

My body I will give to pleasures, to diversions that I’ve dreamed of, to the most daring erotic desires, to the lustful impulses of my blood, without any fear at all, for whenever I will— and I will have the will, strengthened as I’ll be with contemplation and study— at the crucial moments I’ll recover my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

my first salvia experience reminded me of pot. the buzz was nearly the same. i was smoking standard leaf. i dont think i would replace weed with salvia though, weed lasts much much longer and is much better i think.

is a low LSD dose like taking 1 HBWR (1-3 i guess?).
marked emotional uplifting and slight to moderate sensory distortions?
or is it a lot speedier?

Try it with mushrooms, it is absolutely wonderful if you take a dose that is clearly enough but not as much as to cause discomfort or feel awkward.
For cubies, for most people, this is 0.25-0.5gr For LSD it hovers around 10-20mcg
You must not expect a *trip* in the usual sense of the word though, merely a subtly altered consciousness.

Last night I mixed some salvia and a blend of herbs for smoking with just a little bit of weed and it got me about as high as just weed by itself would have. Maybe you can't use salvia to replace weed, but you could mix in a little bit just to boost the effects.

The problem is that the risks associated with Salvia may be (much) higher than those associated with weed. No matter how casual you use, risks (like flashbacks) may exist and accumulate.
If you use LSD or shrooms too often your speech will slur, you'll get flashes of goosebumps and fuzzy thought when sober.
When you use Salvia too often.. Who knows??
This is a pressing reason to not use Salvia casually. Some of our members (like redgreenvines) deliberately are at the frontier of Salvia use. If it will happen to anyone, it will happen to them. People like redgreenvines to some degree have made peace with that, but to do it as a "weed subsitute" instead of for exploration, that may be a risk you on second thought are not prepared to take.

The people here that enjoy salvia seem to be the ones that use moderate extracts, or simply leaves. Though nobody but the person who freaked themselves can know how much they really took, more than likely they put too much into their brain. And Wiccan, that's at least the fifth time I've seen you post *Are you sure you didn't smoke too much?* and maybe sometime soon people will catch on to that (the ones who do smoke too much) idea, so hopefully people are understanding that. They just need to get it past their stubbornness to let it really sink in. Everybody I've smoked salvia with, their only opinion is that it's *really intense*, but they never went on a spree of violence or anything. I wonder why people are being told to smoke a shitload of salvia to feel anything.

Sometimes outsiders seem to know better
If you take so much of a drug that it completely overwhelms you, with negative consequences, then you've taken too much.
Salvia's intensity is much more dose-dependent as that of mushrooms. Personally, I'm against most people taking overwhelming doses of salvia, and most reports thereof consistently prove me right. People casually take towering doses of what might be the strongest entheogenic substance in the world. Veterans have called DMT "a toy" in comparison, and this salvia gets sold in frighteningly high potencies which serve no purpose but outdo the competition by selling a higher-numbered concentrate.
Salvia 10x already is in the Megaton range, people!
