Vibes effects on mushrooms?

Just a question...
Would anyone here be willing to run a controlled experiment on the effects of 'vibes' on mushrooms? Say...
10 fully colonized PF cakes, grown in same way at same time, split into groups of 5, seperated in same terrarium.
Since inoculation, Jars 1-5 were given 2 sittings a day, in ten minute sessions, very GOOD VIBES. Cast off from a very nice person.
Also since inoculation, Jars 6-10 were given, on the same schedule, very very very very bad vibes from the same deliverer as the good vibes.
----
Just wondering, i never thought music would have some strnge unexplained effect on mushrooms, but it does. Maybe vibes could help (or hurt?) mushrooms?
= ? = ?

OK, but use many more jars. Only 5 jars each gives plenty of room for statistical error.

You also need more than 1 person sending "vibes". Perhaps you could take say 12 jars to church with you every sunday and have a prayer said for them during mass intentions.
Or better yet name each jar and start a prayer chain for each one. For a small donation you can also have a convent of nuns pray for them.
For the price of a bottle of whiskey you could get a bum to sit and curse drunkenly at the other group for hours on end.

yea, maybe the music is giving off different vibes for the mushrooms...
Anyone willing to try this before i will try it in.....december?

I like the idea of paying a bum to curse at a jar for hours on end

Yea, but who wants to test the mushrooms grown under bad vibes? Not me. RR

pretty damn advanced but entertaining nonetheless.
AA- it was your idea, so you should do it. not sure quite how scientific 'good vibes' and 'bad vibes' are, but have fun trying.

i've tried this myself with several differnt things. music and vibes.
the only thing i've noticed makes a differnce is don't pay attention to them. watching them every day for me has always made them grow slower. the more i forget them the faster they grow...

I was somewhat hoping the intent of this thread would involve an exploration of the effects of music on the propogation and fruiting of various mycelial cultures. At least there is a basis for such a series of studies in the half-brained science projects of primary students all across the United States. But 'vibes' as a representation of 'emotional intentions'?! Well I suppose if it all comes out, lemme know if the results are particularly surprising. ;P
Anybody tested electromagnetic effects on mycelial growth and fruiting? On some other board people are thinking about setting up a series of lunar-cycle experiments. Perhaps these fields w/ more identifiable mechanisms could be more useful?

this type of test has been documented time and time again with kids growing beans... Why dont you test it out with your neighbors if you dont understand it. Go yell insults at one neighbor everyday. Then to another neighbor be really nice and complement them every day. See what happens.
Its all water... its all thought.... its all flowing ... resist the current and be destroyed or flow with all that is good.... a tree with no water is dead and burns

Of course the perceived distinction between the aforementioned experiments and yelling at your neighbors would entail emotional response. Whether you choose to carefully observe emotional responses as endogenous chemical reactions is up to you. I'd be curious to see demonstrable proof of a mechanism beyond our commonly established forms of communication that would allow for a person's communication to elicit an 'emotional' response from a plant or mushroom.
So we need experiments involving emotional triggers, electromagnetic triggers, 'lunar' triggers, and musical triggers. Anything else?

Uhm, for anybody interested there is apparently a wealth of information related to 'bioelectromagnetism' and the effects of electromagnetic fields on mycelium. Searches yielded a number of interesting results (including theories regarding 'electrohypersensitivity' (basically an allergy to electricity) as manifestation of endogenous mycotoxic production in the presence of electromagnetic fields, and THIS STUDY: Impact of mechanical and electromagnetic waves on mycelium tissue which kindly documents experiments on our beloved Ps. cubensis. Trying to locate more information on the study now.

Good times.

This thread is about "vibes" not bioelectromagnetism. Let's try to stay on topic.
The dangers of magnet mushrooms are covered in another thread.

While I'd argue that, without a well-detailed mechanism for emotional/vibrational influence over mushrooms that likely we're talking about the same thing, I'm happy to keep my 'wonderings' to myself or a new thread.
I have searched somewhat but came across no particularly spectacular results on the subject. Perhaps you have a suggestion?

Not trying to put you off, but it's important to keep such serious subjects on topic.
There were some pretty scary bums in the "bumfights" DVD. Some of them are just too damn crazy. I'm sure they could project "bad vibes" at an intensity that would make our "bad vibes" look very weak.
A bottle of whiskey should be enough payment for a bum to curse and project "bad vibes" at a jar for at least a couple hours. A good bum would also "evil eye" the jar and scare it with occasional extreme outbursts of hate.

We should call the ghostbusters and see if they have any of that emotionally responsive goo left. Maybe it could be used to amplify the vibes and speed up the experiment. I will get the phonebook...

I Think it all depends on what you believe, if you think theres good vibes there are. Masaru Emoto's Water Crystal site... now I don't what it all means... but its pretty interesting..

I would recommend not performing the experiment at all, a better version would be some control jars with no "vibes" and some other jars with only good vibes. No point in creating a lot more misery and anger within yourself/the universe. Being angry/hateful at something is not just bad for the person doing it, but everything, too. It's just not healthy.

you'll also need to test it on someone that doesn't know if they're getting good or the bad 'vibed' mushrooms to rule out your own or others' preconceived thoughts and subconscious suggestions of preconceived effects. Sounds like a very good experiment though, worth testing, but the conclusion is already written and known...
