Weird Head Sensations

Recently I've been experiencing a weird tingling sensation at the top of my head, it feels like its under my scalp but right on top of my brain or something. Happens a few times a day and starts out as a tingling but then starts to get kind of numb. Also sometimes it will feel like the underside of my scalp is burning up, like on fire. Anyone know what this could be, I think I am going to go see a doctor tomorrow.

could be the crown chakra.

I don't really know anything about chakras, but after you mentioned that I read a bit on the crown chakra. The site I'm reading from says:
The view from this chakra includes seeing one's Self as the single consciousness creating all, and paradoxically, thus connected to all, like a dreamer dreaming a dream and realizing that all that is perceived is just an extension of their own consciousness.
I was pondering ideas like these several times the day and day before I started experiencing the sensations. Coincidence!?
Can anyone give me some links to some good sites on chakras. I googled it but it seems like a lot of the sites have some varied explanations.

i have a bunch bookmarked, here are a few. http://www.eclecticenergies.com/chakras/ http://www.dreamstudy.com/Chakras.html http://www.sanatansociety.com/indian_art_galleries/leela_chakras.htm http://www.reiki-for-holistic-health.com/chakra-diagram.html
you absolutely want to work on the root though before you think of messing with the crown.
if it is an energetic issue yoga would be very good. if it isn't, yoga would be very good
