Those are some neat looking shrooms. My first thought was one of the Jack' O Lanterns (Omphalotus olivascens), but the spore color is off. Are you sure the spores are rusty brown? Jack' O Lanterns drop white to pale yellow spores.

Yep, I got gym happy when I saw his pic too, but a closer look ruled that out. I almost wonder if it could be Omphalotus illudens, the Jack-o-Lantern. Although it doesn't look quite orange enough from the top, and he said the spores were orange.
Durban, does this mushroom have a sickly sweet smell? Also, are you sure the spores are orange or are you just basing that on the gill color? And, if you put it in a dark room, do the gills glow?
Edit: LOL, I must be inside of ShroomyDans brain!!

Get out of my brain ShroomyDan! And olivascens - that would explain why the cap isn't quite as orange as typical illudens.

The strongly decurrent gills rule out Gymnopilus.

The glow is very faint. You need to be in total darkness and allow your eyes to adjust for a few minutes before you can see it. The glow is stronger in fresher specimens. If you have a room with no windows, take a mushroom in there, block the crack under the door with a towel, turn off the lights and wait for a few minutes. You might see a glow.
I once visited a patch of Jack 'O Lanterns in the forest on a moonless night. It's a really faint eerie green glow. Many people have difficulty seeing the glow, so if you don't see it, that doesn't necessarily rule out a Jack' O Lantern ID.

"Supposed to" is the key word there. The amount of glow you are looking for is about... none.
I find these things every year and every time i find them, I check for glowing. Nothing.
Even after sitting in the dark for 10 minutes to let my eyes adjust, I'm just some idiot sitting in a dark room staring at mushrooms that don't glow in the dark.
Here's pics of the ones I've found, just so you have something to compare to:

That enough pictures for ya?

if you want them to glow they must be exposed to light, then put in the dark.
try them under black light.
