Vegetative Mycelium- cakes covered in stroma?

My PF cakes have been in the fruiting chamber for a week now and the only growth I have had is cottony mycelia (I believe this is called stroma). What I have read about it leads me to believe that it isn't necessarily a bad thing for p. cubensis as opposed to other types of mushrooms, just vegetative growth. What caused 'em to get this way? Too much CO2? Not enough light? What can I do to get these guys rhizomorphic? The mycelium seems healthy and is free of contams- any ideas?

Sometimes it takes a little longer than a week for pins to form, I would wait a little longer.

I have been continuing to research this problem and what I have learned is that I probably have nothing to worry about yet. Once again, patience is the key. Stroma or overlay I discovered is usually only a problem with casings. As a first-timer, any feedback I can get on this is welcome. How long should I wait before I should be concerned about fruiting?

Thats pretty normal for cakes man, especially if you double case them that is moist soil or verm. on the bottem and top of the cake, and roll them. The mycellium usually colonizes the casing and what your seeing I wouldnt think is bad. I've harvested 10g dry from 1 cake and it has plenty of mycellium covering the casing soil.

Thanks for the tips. I did put 'em thru a good roll before placing them in the chamber. Does this vary from strain to strain or is it to be expected when using the dunk and roll method? My babies are B+.
