A few weeks ago. I was with one of my friends and we were talking about our problems with heroin etc, and my friend began asking me why I walled him off (we were estranged for a while), and why I was this way and that way; bascially why I was such an ego-centric, vindictive asshole back when I was at my worst, and it just cut staight through, I can't remember the last time I cried that hard. My friend said it hurt just to see me in that much pain.

It cleared up a lot of shit that needed clearing up, really putting our friendship back on track, and it also released a lot of shit that I was keeping locked away inside. So I guess it was a good thing, sometimes ya gotta let it all out.

yes, you definitely need that release sometimes. it's not good to keep shit bottled up, which i think most people have a tendancy to do. crying is good for the soul.

I've done that before, too.

I spent the entirety of Easter long weekend one year quite a while ago crying all over the place. I had no idea why I was so triggery, I thought I was going absolutly crazy. I even went to the doctor about it cuz long distance telephone commercials started setting me off.

Turns out I had indeed chose not to deal with some very common stressors, bottled up and shut out some very average, normal shit that had required some emotion for closure.

So even though I thought I was just going crazy crying over nothing... my body needed to let some shit go, and was going to do it wether I concious of it or not.

Interesting stuff.

Hear hear. I really don't see a point to crying. It doesn't help you solve your problems. So what does it accomplish? Maybe some emotional release, but at the same time, it can bring down people around you if you're not in private. After you're done crying, you're still in the same boat.

I never saw my dad cry when I was a kid, and it seemed to me that he could take on whatever the world threw at us. I think it's important for parents (or any role model) to show emotional stability and emotional strength. Emotions rub off on those around you (including children).

I saw this show about some girl on TLC that was having a sex-change (girl to guy), and she started taking testosterone. She/he said that after a couple months of shots, she/he didn't feel the need to cry as often, and even had trouble trying to cry.

Full Moon

Full Moon Gleam,
Full Moon frontals,
Full Moon shine,
Full Moon leafy,
If you know what I mean.

I cried that. But not in the dark.
Right out in the open, wild woods,
but the Moon wasn't out, the Sun was shining.
And there were no tears, cause I shouted for joy when I cried,
Heaven heard it and smiled in heart, when I was free and hell died.

when i feel the need i let them flow. i used to keep everything bottled up but i don't think that is healthy, i have cried probably 15-20 times in a year... seems high but i went through some important things.

Don't really cry very often, I think the last time was after watching Who's Eating Gilbert Grape a couple months ago. I find that masturbation is a fairly effective way to difuse stress.
