I was curious as to what artist or type of music you all enjoy listening to while tripping. My personal favorites so far have been Sufjan Stevens (http://www.emusic.com/artist/11570/11570419.html) and the Dead (yeah, I know it's cliched). What about you?

Mushrooms and music don't really mix with me; it just sounds like unorganized noise.
LSD on the other hand is best enjoyed with Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Muse, Tool...anything deep and long.

If you do a search for something like "trippy music" or "music to trip to" in this forum or the Music, Arts, & Literature forum you will find endless lists of peoples favorite trip music.

It depends on the music, some stuff plays really well into Mushrooms.

Anyone who enjoys complex, skillful, and intricately orchestrated music [with a hint of Middle-Eastern undertones (lots of Bavarian scales)] should check out Estradasphere and Secret Chiefs 3. Ever seen a man play 2 saxophones at once? In 2 different keys? I didn't think so...
My favorite trip song: Secret chiefs 3 - (forgot album name) - Zulfiqar III

What relay is amazing to me, is that the question being asked here is so, completely un answerable.
There are so many genres out there all good in their own way, for tripping.
Pink Floyd is very mystical and powerful for me.
Madlib and DJ Cam play acid jazz/inde-rap and thats very smooth and calm to me
Quick silver messenger service and Jefferson air plane are good and tend to put me into a trance state.
Squarepusher and Pole are some times the trippiest music because there electronic sound is so unreal but sounds so amazing when tripping. This kind of music is way trippy but alot of the time I don't listen to it.
While my answer might be a bit hypocritical of my first comment, I think just calling pink Floyd or the dead(for example) as the best tripping music is alittle short sited, Theres alot of good music out there in all genres, and yes even country( the Dead are country-ish).
So may I leave my last remark as a call to action to go out side of your normal listening boundries and go find some new music that is new to you and enjoy! (sorry for grammar do to being high)

lol YOU MUST LISTEN TO SHITTY MUSIC OR DONT KNOW SHIT ABOUT MUSIC THEN .
You can't just judge some one like that. People CAN be different you know.
Maybe another time i'll try to listen to music while tripping, but when I did lsd I really wasn't up for it....maybe because i was being amazed by everything else..

for me everything sounds better and i can seperate each instrument and know exactly why it was put in the organized manner that it is in. but im a fucking music addict to the max.
That is your opinion, and that's all good and well, but it does not give you the right to claim superiority. Humble yourself, for god's sake! I have also had trips where music didn't quite do it for me. Again, it's all about set & setting.

I find that certian genres of music simply dont go good with tripping. However, which genres go good with tripping and dont may also largely change from person to person.
I remeber during Toronto Pride, I did some mush and went down to the street party. One of the DJs was playing, bleh - dont know what. But my brain simply couldnt make sense of the music. It just felt like a barrage of clashy sounds in my head that had no rhyme or reason. Everyone else around me was going off like it was the best set ever and I couldnt help but think 'huh?'.
Then again, I do recall one time seeing Michale Goodwin on shrooms, it felt like I was being attacked by music - but in the best possible way
