Has anyone had any problems getting bad spores from sponsors? I am not seeing any activity in my jars. I'm pretty sure I didn't overheat them or anything. It just seems like I should have seen somthing by now.

some sponsors will, others will not. i've bought my share of $15 distilled water and green mold from a nameless sponsor. it is more likely that you made a mistake in your prep though, especially if its your first.

Spores have to germinate, which takes time. I inoculated my bags of WBS 4 or 5 days ago and I have yet to see any growth yet. I have faith though.
If you're perhaps annoyed/bored you could always make a Liquid Culture in your spare time. It will burn time, and if your first batch turns to be failures you can use the LC to colonize your next batch in record time!

spores from vendors are usually quite clean.
more often than not complaints come from fault of the hobbiest.
waiting is the first thing to do. read up on agar and get a small amount of MEA and some petri dishes.
attempt to germinate your spores on agar if you want fast results to see if they are viable or not.
as for your jars, you will have to wait up to a month to rule them out.
maybe you didn't overheat them while "incubating" but you may have inoculated before the jars were totally cooled.
as tuna said, more details would get you a better answer.
and yes people sometimes do get bad syringes from sponsors at least they claim they do and the sponsors are very good about replacing them.

I guess maybe I am to excited. I will wait...... more and see what happens. and look into the agar. I just need to find somthing to keep my mind off of this for a while. waiting is driving me crazy. It's just in my nature. I become compulsive about things. Thanks for your help though guys... and gals ?

waiting is hard.
suggestions of starting new projects are good ones. when you have multiple projects going, you spend less time thinking about each one.
good things happen when you gather the strength to wait it out.

If this happens again you need to let a moderator know so we can address it. We expect our members and sponsors to be honest and take care of each other. I personally want to hear from every member, from this point on, that is having an ongoing issue with a sponsor.

Brave man indeed, but its people like wronguy that we need around here to make things run smoothly and keep flaming down to a minimum!
Props to you wronguy.
Dotcomunist......keep waiting. Patience is the only way you will get something good out of this hobby. The first time one inocs some jars..they check them every 15 seconds for the first 10 days and shit the pants if there is no visible growth....only to find 3 days later after calming down, that they were fine all along.
