I have to say that if I happened to work at a place and said place experienced an LSD spill I might well find myself in precisely the same predicament.

Apparently this guy filled his soda bottle with the liquor. I'm guessing this would be akin to everclear. Wow, heavy shit! Personally, I would have never ingested it but been more inclined to see how fast I'd get drunk from submerging myself in a 24' deep pool of 190 proof alcohol.

I don't think the human body could last long in that.

I choose to believe that you could get deliriously drunk within roughly 3-4 minutes exposure; with a quick hot water shower being all that is necessary to insure quite the fun night.

I could, otoh, see your skin reacting to such treatment in a myriad of negative side effects. I could also envision losing motor skills rapidly enough to drown.

I think it warrants further supervised experimentation. :sun:

It would have been best if he had died in some spectacular fashion, like puking himself to death.

Or, alternately, if he had caught on fire while drinking it.

Absorption through several different cavities would probably catch the subject off guard.

Swimming in 190 proof alcohol would hurt.

Imagine getting everclear into your genitals and ass.

Last I checked, sniffing alcohol doesn't get you drunk. I think you're confusing it with ether.

That said, I'm surprised 2-3 ounces did that to him. Lets do the math:
1 shot = 1.5 fl oz
3 fl oz = 2 shots
Typical liquor is 80 proof(40%) ethanol, this stuff was 190(95%) proof. So for every 1 shot he took of that stuff, it was equivalent to 2 shots of typical liquor.

So if the article is right, he had about 4 shots of typical liquor. That would not put anyone at a BAC of .79, the article is wrong... unless the dude weighed like 80 lbs

Hah... cool, look what I just found:

I don't think it's wrong. The guy said he had about 2-3 oz, but the article said the supervisor found 3 empty bottles with traces of the alcohol in it. So basically he's lieing?

His biggest mistake was not taking a tiny sip.Methanol is the one you really gotta worry about.

And I bet there's very little concern about methanol contaminants in ethanol which is intended for use as fuel.

I'd imagine an EtOH factory perfects their distillation process. EtOH(ethannol) packs more of an enegry punch than MtOH(methanol).

Still the fact that he MIGHT have been drinking some MtOH is scary. I'd rather NOT be blind than get drunk.
