Ive searched this forum and the net but came up with no luck. If someone could tell me wich strain of cubensis has the highest yield, it would be much appreciated. Thanks

They all yeild pretty much the same. Also, enviroment plays a big role on yeilds. If you want high(er) yeilds you'll want to case. PF is very forgiving for newbies but you might want to go with something a little more potent, lets say, the PR strain. However, the PRs are hard to case and known for their overlay.

Nearly all strains yield the same and are the same potency. If you want something more potent or higher yielding, look at your technique, not your strain. Strain differences are very minor things compared to the effects of growing paramaters and techniques.

PM me with any cultivation questions.
I just looked at my profile and realized I had a website at one point in time on geocities, it's not there anymore and I have no idea what I had on it. Anybody remember my website from several years aga? PM if so please.

I've had great 2oz. yeilds from one casing with PES Hawaiians... i wouldn't recommend PRs if you are going for yeild.. they don't grow that big, lots abort, and the stems aren't very meaty.

Well, i dont actually agree.
There are some cubensis spore-races that do fruit more agressively than others - those who say otherwise havent grown tasmanians on millet. Maybe it evens out when say the Malaysian fruits a total of nine small flushes and the tassies only give four bigones, but i cant be fucked waiting.
If you want aggressive fruiters, try Tassies, GCs or Lipa Yai

I agree. There are definite differences in yeilds from strain to strain. Some more noticable than others. If you've ever kept logs than you would see the proof. I'd pick Equadorians as the one of the higher yielding because they produce excellent second flushes. As far as first flush goes they're comparable to the other strains such as Cambodian, Matias Romero, Mazatapec...

I think i always agree with Nighted
Upon some thought, i am convinced that their are considerable differences between the yields of spore-races. Sure, spore-matches and substrate play a large part, but i think the significance of spore-race is being understated in terms of yields.
As an example, a effectively domesticated strain like one of the PES (amazonian or hawaii) or the tasmanian spore race will use any substrate more effectively to fruit more prolifically than a more fickle or 'wild' strain such as the Puertos or the current genetically 'odd' PF Classic.
And as for potency, well i think you guys know my opinion and i always like to quote stamets who quotes the only known study of alkaloid content of different domesticated cubensis:
Stijve and de Meijer (1993) found .15% psilocybin and .50% psilocin in a [domesticated] Mexican strain and .15% psilocybin and .33% psilocin in an amazonian strain.
Not significantly different, but different all the same

I just thought up of a stupid analogy to spore-race yeilds.
It's like this:
We are all to one degree or another like different spore races. And we all have different abilities in pissing. Some can write their names on the ground (quality), while others can piss across the road (strength). Some can piss for 3 minutes (extended fruiting), while others drain like a fire hose (aggresive fruiting).
The analogy can be interpreted like this:
Although differences in fruiting can be caused by abilities of a strain. Some of these differences can yeild the same volume...I mean mass, while their fruiting abilities appear different. And sometimes if we strain hard enough we can just piss further than the next guy.
I think that made sense?
...No, I am not giving up my day job.

I'm finding that puertos are actually excellent fruiters and have a high rate of efficiency when you grow out a good isolate under optimal conditions. It's just harder to acquire optimal conditions for puertos because of their overlay tendencies, but once you figure them out, they can yield just as much as any other strain.

Yeh like they said...most have the same yield, but as others cleverly stated, certain strains are better fruiters. Even within a strain, the particular strain that you isolate(substrain?) will make a big difference, as will the substrate you use, and the eveness of pinning on first 3 flushes. puertos are especially challenging according to recent reports. sure if you are anno and have the majick myco touch thats great. Equador is said to be a consistant and reliable strain by many.

Maybe i should have said that an isolated strain of any cubensis spore race will perform pretty damn well. But still, some better than others - otherwise many cubensis strains would not be dropped by vendors

The moral to the story is you as the cultivator play a role in how you plan to fruit your shrooms and how you provide them the environment they need to fruit; your chances are better from isolates than multi-spores and there's still no guarantees that the genetics of the batch you're growing will live up to their strain's reputations.
I understand these types of questions...but really...does it matter THAT much? If you want more...grow more...

it does matter, because i like some straings better than others - some are smelly - most cubensis strains infact.

Why don't you grow 'em and find out for yourself. That is the fun way of finding out. Pick two strains and have a "grow off" competition in your closet and you will be able to share your results with the group.
Now go get your spores!
