I havent seen any pics, but i can explain it to you - its a pretty simple concept once you've gone about it.
Deppscratching is basically using a fork to move or mix your casing is circumstances where you either believe its going to overlay or when you want to spread that colonisation around more uniformly. Just use a sterile fork to scratch the casing layer down to where the substrate starts.

all over the casing layer, or just in one big trench, or like a fresh farm field with lots of little trenches?
