 HUGE impeller type humidifier. Found new in box at a thrift store for $5. Must be from the 60's & predates CoolMist. This thing BLOWS an unbelievable fine mist.

my folks have that one. when i was a sick youngin they would throw it in my room. if i am not mistaken it sounds like an old man trying to sing in between gurgles.

EXACTLY. CoolMist = IMPELLER type humidifier.
This old man is also an IMPELLER TYPE, the same as a CoolMist. Only, this one is JUMBO size. Plastic it is made of, is as thick as the kind on plastic 55G drums. The motor is bigger, as is cfm & mist output.
I had to install a catch basin drain, because it is so HIGH OUTPUT.
 Every day or so. I have to unscrew the bottom cap & drain accumulated water.
This thing throws FOG like a spray paint gun.
I am fine tuning it with a timer.
 15 minutes on every 6 hours seems to be PERFECT.

This one is a QUIET as a coolmist. Very very slight fan type hum, is all. No gurgles, or glug sounds.

CoolMist != IMPELLER type humidifier.
Coolmist is usually an ultrasonic. The impellers mostly predate the term "cool mist". Both types sometimes call themselves "cool mist" now since they both produce a "cool mist".

Funny you say that. "agar" is my mentor. Not to mention, we have a close relationship.
agar is very ill, with a pancreatic problem. He is in a "C" institute & has been for some time.
He hopes to come "home" soon. No more than I.

old stuff rocks... they sure don't make 'em like they usedto:

the gauge says "sept 18 1906" on it. she still works great, except for the missing wing nut that's replaced with a regular nut i gotta tighten down with pliers.
(haha and don't mind my stove, how's that mess for sterility? i think i see a few chunks of verm on there... )

I just bought an identical unit from a Salvation Army thrift store. Haven't had a chance to hook it up yet.
