I found this really pretty mushroom standing strong in a patch of ivy. It's a very sturdy fella. Awesome twisted stem.

That looks like one of the gilled bolets. Does it bruise blue?

No bruising. Ivy patch is located between two walnut trees. And about ten yards from some non-gilled bolets. This is in the north eastern region of Maryland.

No, no spore print. I should have noted that I was only looking for possible suggestions for a close match. I'm not going to eat any of these. At this point I am just generally curious to know what they are. I suppose if you are asking for a spore print you must have an idea of several mushrooms that match this ones appearance?

So says you, the only way to get a good sporeprint is to wait overnight
and some people dont give enough of a shit to leave dead rotting fungus out overnight for everyone to see, its just wierd, okay?

What?! Mushrooms don't degrade that quickly!
Naw, I have spore prints and dried mushrooms all about my room. If you care more about how you will be percieved by others (why the hell is everyone in your house/room over night???), than you do over taking one spore print, don't come here.
Don't ask for ID's if you don't intend to comply with requests for descriptions of your specimen.

This just gets better and better..... I cannot believe some human being with access to the REQUIRED FIELDS- no let me repeat- REQUIRED FIELDS- for posting ID requests cannot reply with a non- active species (let alone otherwise this is not permissable) because they think this is detrimental to their social graces. What are you- a fifteen year old whos parents are watching your every move- because if so you have no reson to be posting here. (Seriously)....

So you are saying the only way I should be allowed to come here is if I am willing to choose <i>mushrooms</i> over a social life?
In the real world, people think oddly of you when you put cups of mushroom caps and leave them out overnight
And yes, everyone in the ENTIRE world is in my house/room at night, good job taking things literally
You realize that most people here live with other people, be it any situation, if someone comes into your room and sees you taking spore prints, you are pretty much fucked

So you ARE a kid, huh? Cause I don't percieve you as overtly popular. There ARE RULES FOR POSTING! Dis YOU read them? I did, over 3 years ago, and have followed them to the letter. If you are un-able to accomidate the required rules (or any of your buddies/confidants) for posting- then it is the opinion of everyone here (and I feel fully confidant in upholding the rules) that you leave until you can satisfy the requirements for posting ID requests. Stop being weird and save yourself some disrespect.

Also, where do you get at making assumptions about my popularity? Wtf is that about, no seriously, that was fucked up..
God damn, you people seriously creep me out, sorry for not wanting others to see me as some fucked up wierdo that gathers mushrooms...

This side conversation needs to stop right now. You are derailing another user's thread. BTW, this is not the best place to call mushroom hunters "fucked up weirdos". I think you need a time out.

Are you caling us fucked up weirdos that gather mushrooms? Can you or have you not read the rules for posting ID requests? We ALL give a shit. You are lucky not to be banned from posting with your wild disreguard. Also IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII spent the last 3 years at the shroomery (active or not). And lastly- IIIIIII decide your popularity- and you have none. And not only do I hope I creep you out- I hope I make you thinks a little bit about rules and standards that are in place to prevent misinformation from spreading and laziness from abounding. Go back into your hole you troll. One love my ass you stoned out dick.

I just banned AntiEverything for flaming and trolling, should I give others a time out as well?
Any further posts in this thread need to be about the mushroom found in the ivy.

Thankyou shroomydan for stepping up like a man. I would like to suggest that those delinquent posts be removed as well. I would also like to say that I have read the rules and I apologize for not taking a spore print. In my defense, we saw a ridiculous anount of rain over the past several days. Much of my time was consumed in hunting and photographing. There were so many shrooms I didn't think it was practical to spore print them all. It would have taken a small room to complete the task and I do live with other people that I need to be considerate of. I was hoping that since I was not planning on ingesting the mushrooms that the mods would be lenient with my posts which at least contain a several descriptive shots of the mushroom. And I gladly will include as much information as I can recall as well as answer any questions that may arise.

Your roommates care? Cause if my friends were my roommate they would just be like oh sweet mushrooms are they active?
Sooooo your the odd one out of your friends anyway just because you don't want them to know and your hading from them.
Also why would they care? If I saw someone doing it I would be just like hmmm he is spore printing that shroom, and them if I was clueless I would be like oh yo man what are you doing, then I think they would be saying something like oh dude I am trying to find out if this mushroom I found is gonna make me trip.
Also you can print in a descrete spot, like under the bed.
