Hey everyone... Just trying to make a covert grow area. How many inches overhead should the mushrooms have? For instance, even if their normal height is between 4-6 inches, then could they still be grown in a 3 inch area? This also raises the question of where the light would come from... I was thinking maybe a small portable flashlight could be put above to let the mushrooms know which direction to go. How would one go about making mushrooms really fat and short? It certainly would be easy to keep it humid and warm. A heat pad under a thin layer of glass or some other mildly conductive material, would heat it, and then a plexiglass piece would lie directly under the board... So this is sort of what it would look like:

Pick a short fat strain.

My Cambodians are small.....they might work in a small space like that.

I think KS strain might work too.

PES Hawaiians too.....i think.

thats not gonna work, read up on poor mans terrarium, and hide that somewhere, like in your closet in a box with a flashlight on them. if your gonna grow em, give em a chance, dont try to grow mushrooms in a 3 inch space.....what kinda cakes are you gonna make, or area you gonna do a pan your first time....give em a chance to grow, dont throw away money trying to grow three inch mushrooms.
