I knew there was some dung in there, seems like pretty small amounts though from the very light smell compared to the real deal stuff. I actually have been smelling that more powerful myc smell every since the beginning of the second day, now it is overwhelming!!! I should have at least a few half-pints in later tonight!!!!! Hope it's not too early. A level 3-4 trip from 1.2 grams? Holy Shit, I think I'll eat my whole first harvest fresh and see what happens!!!

Like I've mentioned before, I would suggest in a month or even a few weeks or so have a little contest or even sell it at cost to a handful of people on here who want to test it on another app and can properly explain how it may be of some use (I actually have a few ideas myslelf). Just send out like 2 or 4 jars worth, enough to test it out properly and with the agreement that you will share your experiment and results, not simply just saying "It works". At least a couple return pictures should be required, especially if you decide to send some out free.

I was going to use ye olde PFtek. I always expect the worst anyway. The idea of a substrate with resistence to contams is the key attraction. Since you say it dehydrates quickly, I suppose I could inject water into the cakes along the way. I'll give a coco coir casing mix a try, too.

sorry, had to fly out of town for a day. Here is the first thing that I've done tonight, birthing the Pint glass into the pod. I'll have my third pod completely loaded up by later tonight with half-pints

Okay, here is my brand new pod that I got a week ago finally loaded up with the goods, mycotek's new coconut substrate (pre sterilized). The middle cake is Treasure Coast (3-17), the front cake is a PR (3-18), and the other five toward the back are Hawaiian (3-18). They were 100% colonized for 24-48 hours before birth.

at the pic kindnug and looking at my jars, how am I supposed to tell if the cakes are fully colonized. Your cakes look pretty splotchy with mycelium growth, I know this is how they're supposed to look based on previous posts, but what should I look for when it comes to complete colonization? myco-tek, kindnug, anyone with experience with the cocostrate? thanks roy

Yeah, I innoculated this rye grain cake and just by luck the multispore injection turned out quite good. So I'm working with a strong culture that has good rhizomorphs, its a good thing too cause I think it's the only reason I'm seeing growth in the oversaturated cakes- sorry kindnug for messing up your log- peace roy

It's hard for me to believe the differences between the middle cake and the outer 6 are a result of anything other than the extra day and a half that the middle cake was incubating and colonizing. This coupled with the fact that the middle cake was in a porous plastic cup compared to small non-porous glass. Anyways that is how I feel at the moment. I should be able to tell better in a day or so, I'll update with some close ups of a couple of different cakes. And I should have some more of those TC cakes in soon too, half-pints from the same batch

Update Central!! I'm having some problems here folks. Last night and today I lost a whole batch (6 half-pints) due to I think a weak strained BRF cake. It was kind of old too, but not 100% colonized for too long. I also lost earlier today 2 TC cakes that had been birthed in the pod approximately 14 hours. Tough to say but I may not have noticed the spots last night, I still can only see them with a flashlight right now. The bad thing is that those 2 are from the same batch as that large really nice looking TC cake in my previous posts. And they looked very nice too, unfortunately I just picked up these minute spots of green trich today. Sorry if I don't make sense right now, I ate 4 grams of mostly dried PR's. I'll post some new pics tonight, I've got some cakes going in.

I didn't even toss out the two that had green trich appearing, instead I put them in a tray ouside of the pod to watch and see? I made a large cut and took probably a tablespoon of substrate around the contam so as not to touch it. That has been in a seperate closed jar for 12 hours so far and has shown no sign of any added contamination; only vigorous myc growth (from the cut). Could I have made a mistake? It is most definitely a bright green; it is probably still too small to take a pic though. Well, I guess I'll just keep an eye and maybe try and get them back in if they seem okay. Peace
