Texture of a colonized cake?
    #5837096 - 07/08/06 10:15 PM (17 years, 6 months ago)

Hey everyone, i was just wondering what the texture of a colonized cake would be like...spongy and wet, mushy, furry.. etc

Also, when a cake is crumbled or broken up to case, are the "insides" of the cake supposed to be as white and colonized as the outside? Like does the inside of a cake look the same as the outside?

Thanks

Bumping your thread after less than an hour, shame on you.

The texture of a cake is like the texture of... latex I guess. Kind of rubbery, but not as tough.

The insides should be white.

I bumped the thread after 37 minutes :P
Thanks for the info
Also, should the cakes be hard to break apart and moist, or should they be easy to break apart and dry(ish).
Thanks again

i tried to cut one with a knife one time by simply putting the knife on the cake and pressing down but it didn't cut, it just made a big crease.

my cakes have generally been meduim breakability and moist.
