I suppose. Maybe I'm just touchy because my pre-teen daughter has recently shifted from country to rap and she has, of course, picked the worst stuff I've ever heard.

I like most anything Sage Francis does. He has some self titled work and a few albums for his rap "band", Non-Prophets.

Atmosphere- You Can't Imagine How Much Fun We're Having (the album) Atmosphere is pretty sweet, this is my favorite album, but all of them are good. The rap is ussually pretty fast and energetic, I love it.
Blade Icewood- Blood Sweat and Tears Although I tend to avoid most "gangsta" rap, I really like this guy. He is a true gangster, he is from the streets of detroit. He was shot a bunch of times, and actually recorded most of his music from a wheelchair, as he was paralyzed from the neck down. In april of 05' he was killed. Its pretty good music.
Bone Thugs- No specific album, but this music is really smooth, and GREAT to get high to.
Brother Ali- Champion EP This is a great album, and I love the song the album is named after.
Cage- Hells Winter Im not sure if you would like this album, its kind of dark. Cage has a pretty bad history, his dad was a heroin addict. Cage ended spending a lot of time in a mental hospital, which he called "rap school". Most of his lyrics are really fascinating.
Dr. Dre- His music is just classic, so many great songs, like The Next Episode, Still Dre, and Forgot About Dre
Immortal Technique- Revolutionary Vol.2 He is really into "intelligent" hip hop. A lot of it is political, and hes a great rapper.
Lil Wyte- Another exception I make for "gangsta" rap. He is really cocky, and its pretty funny, but hes got some good beats and great songs. Songs like oxycotton, Acid, and I know you strapped are good.
One Be Lo- S.O.N.O.G.R.A.M Hes from Pontiac Michigan and is just an overall great rapper
Wu-Tang Clan- Probably my favorite group. The best songs are 4th chamber, C.R.E.A.M, Wu tang clan aint nothin to fuck with, verses, and think differently.
Hope this helps, not sure if this is what your looking for, its just my 2 cents
