So I went to my dealership today for some checkup maintenance... they wen't "out of buissness" [sic].
So I went to my local auto store, picked up a new oil filter and 3L of 10W-40 4 stroke motorcycle oil and a bottle of plan 9 and another bottle of simple green degreaser.
took off my lower fairing to find out the aftermarket exhaust tubes were RIGHT underneath the oil drain plug so I just let it glug all over my pipes, relapced the filter and filled it back up...
Let it idle for a few minutes then rode around, degreased the lower fairing (it was THICK with sludge, washed and waxed the whole thing, lower fairing back on and went for a leisure cruise.
I'm never paying for an oil change again.
Next weekend's project? bleed brake fluid and replace front and back pads. I'm getting more mechanically inclined with each mini project. Anybody know a cheap place for bike boots? My store credit at the dealership is worth as much as the paper it's written on.
picture to follow!

Sweet you got a bike? what kind is it?
I've been thinking about buying one this summer if I can afford it/insurance.

I left you a comment on your Myspace page imploring you to be careful while riding your bike.

Awesome. I'm jealous, although I'd be looking at a cruiser instead of a racing bike.

Those fairings dont look to hard to take off. On my bike it's like a jigsaw puzzle from hell.I also poked a whole on the radiator resevoir tryin to take the oil filter out and got oil all over the front tire.

my bike isn't as pretty as blinkidiot's...but its my first and i just bought it yesterday. 175cc (yep, can't even take it on the freeway...but no bother, i'd rather not anyway) and geico quoted me $250 for 12 months in ca...insurance can be no big deal on a small bike. if you are serious, do the research.
