Newbie identify help...

I found these growing in my front yard underneath a tree by our trampoline. I am a relatively new mycologyst but have been fascinated with shrooms for several years now. I am relatively confident to have identified these mushrooms as Psilocybe cyanescens, but I would love a second opinion!
I have included 4 pictures of the same 8 shrooms in different positions (sorry the quality isn't better I had to use a video camera b/c the digital camera isn't working properly)
Habitat: Topsoil underneath a tree (not on the tree) kindof shady area Gills: Tanish brown, a little wavy (dried) and slightly darker along edges and where attaches to the cap. Stem: smallest is a little over 1.5" up to the longest at about 3.75" with average width being no larger than .25" Cap: largest is about 3" wide, smallest is 1.5 - 2", wavy, light tan brown getting darker towards the center, slightly bulbous center (reason I picked it, resembles bell shape of psilocybe mushrooms) Spore Print: don't have one (picked several days ago, didn't think about it) Bruising color: not sure (the only one that MAY be bruised is a nice brown, almost chocolate brown (near the bottom of the stem on the largest one in the pictures [farthest on the right]) Scent: very mushroomy (like a bag of psilocybe cubensis)
I hope this is enough information for some of you guys to help me out. Like I said, I am fairly sure (%85+) that these are indeed psilocybe cyanescens due to the extreme waviness of the cap. All of the pictures I have seen of poisonous look alikes on the web don't have a cap as wavy as these. If there is any more info I could post just let me know. Thanks guys...

Psilocybe cyanescens does not grow in VA, or in the summer.
hence, those are not said species.
there's not much more I can say about them without knowing the spore color and seeing a pic of fresh ones. pictures of dried mushrooms are generally useless for identification.

What have you been doing with the several years of interest in mycology? Certainly not learning anything. Sorry to be harsh, but even a glance at a description in a field guide would rule out Psilocybe canescens. There are probably 5000 species of mushrooms with wavy caps that are brown.

I wouldn't say not learning ANYTHING...I have been studying cultivation. It wasn't until I found these in my yard that my interest in hunting peaked. Once the B+ casings I have been working on start producing I will post some pics. BTW: I live EXTREMELY close to a cow pasture...any tips or links to good tips for species in my area to look for, I would be forever greatful...

You need to be looking for Blue Foot.. They will not be in cow pastures.. You need to be hunting the woods creeks and river banks and back water eddy's that are kinda marshy...

thanks YESSUP, i have PLENTY of woods near my house (only about 300 acres, and I know of a private creek nearby owned by our previous landlord, I go offroading on his property sometimes so I don't think he would mind much, if he ever happened to see me, which is unlikely)

Yep, your cow pastures won't do much for you in southern VA, but people have been finding lots of blue foots not far from you, so try to find some of them. Again, sorry about being harsh before, but being positive about your ID before could get you killed! Lots of nasty little brown mushrooms that can look like that. Good luck with your grow.
