My own H-poo??
    #5835585 - 07/08/06 03:17 PM (17 years, 6 months ago)

I just moved into an old farm house and the previous owners had 10 horses and apparently never cleaned up the poop.

After what must have been years the 10 acre property has tons and tons of poop, and all of it looks really dry and ready to be used.
So does any work need to be done on this poop or can i just pasteurize and use?

It doesnt smell and is extremely dry and almost a light tan to off white color?
Thanks for any advice.

you'll probably still want to leech it, but you could probably just pasteurize it as it is, especially if it just looks like dirt.

If it was exposed to rain/sun cycles outside.

It should be PERFECT.

Smell a handful.
If it smells like garden soil, sort of earthy.

You hit the BONANZA.

I agree with the others, but leeching would make sure that it is good, to leach just get a big big bucket and drill holes on the bottom and sides so water can flow through and then put it in your tub or outside and stick the hose on it and run water through it for as long as u can. I did myn for 2 hours and it smelt like dirt.

Leeching will likely ruin it. The sun and rain have already leeched it plenty. If it's dry, just chop up, rehydrate, pasteurize and use.

So can the H-poo actually get too old to use? like too many rains or by just being out in the sun too long?
