Mycobag confusion, and only 3 days until I put into FC!

Okay well I was looking at my one and only mycobag that survived, it was one out of three, and I read at the top it is made of grains. But it looked like vermiculite inside and I figured it was just a brf/verm mycobag! (I didn't buy the mycobag or obviously I would have known better)
I don't want to get horse poo and case this thing, I'm too much of a newbie for such a project. Would it work if I case with just vermiculite?
Or can I cake it with good results? I forget where but I thought I heard caking grains was retarded.
EDIT: or will this idea work: Add sterilised vermiculite and brf straight from the jars they were sterilized in, adding an equal amount of to the amount of cake already in the bag.

After full colonization, you can break up the grains, then spread them into a tray 1 1/2 to 2 inches deep, then cover with 1/2 inch of casing material. Read up on the 50/50 casing teks. RR

What is some cheap easy to find casing material, that doesn't require going to a horse farm?

Casing material is ONE THING. Substrate is ANOTHER. H/poo is substrate. Peat/vermiculite is CASING material.
You will not often find peat/vermiculite at a horse farm.

So all I need is the vermiculite? Or do I need peat too?

you can use 50/50 peat/verm as a casing. You can find both at most large department stores such as wal mart, lowes, or the like

Thanks, I think I'll use just the vermiculite unless peat will change the casing 10 fold (less contaminates and much much better yield)

Straight verm will have less contam probs than mixes. And 50/50 isn't really going to increase yield IMHO.
