Habitat: Grass
Gills: Dark brown
Stem: Light tan at top, fades down to dark brown, almost black when dried.
Cap: Tan, kind of a brown at the top. had a dull ring around it when wet. Pictures tomorrow.
Spore print color: Black.

I'm not much of a hunter, but i read (i think) subbs have dark spore prints.

subbs do have black spore prints, but these aren't subbs. Look like some other type of inactive panaeolus.

Those ones can be weakly active or not at all......You want to look for Panaeolus subbalteatus (SUBBs)

At the top of this page under search posts heading click it then search the words P. subbalteatus SUBBs to the left click mushroom hunting and to the right under ' fewer than ' type 10 and designate years and you should find all you need to know unless your in Southeast east area you can find Copes and Cubes....search these same way
