Experienced mychophiles, I have just birthed the contents of what I believe to be the longest incubation period for shrooms in history (it took almost 2 months). However, 3 of the 4 jars remaining from my original 12 (pathetic, i know) are colonized and I have just placed them in the terrarium about 24 hours ago. I am using a Perlite setup just as described in most of the teks I've seen. I have a steady temp of about 73 degrees. I really would like to see success after all of this so I can call it more than just a "learning expereince." So... 1. CAn anyone give me any additional advice on what I can do to get these things to grow optimally and in the shortest amount of time? 2. How much output can I expect to get at this point and about how long on avg., does it take? THanks, ~Shrizooma

Well, Good luck getting the cakes to fruit. If i was you....I'd probably fill the jars with water and put the cakes in the jars with the water.....put them in the frig over night. This is called dunking. I'd almost bet that your cakes are very dry. Then put them in the fruiting chamber at 73 degrees.......with 98% humidity. And you just might get lucky and have some fruits. The mycellium might have already ate all the BRF up. If you don't have an incubator.....make one. Next time you have jars in an incubator.....keep the jars at 83 to 84 degrees. You will have them completely colonized in 2 weeks. Good luck to you !!
