LC Shaking

Can vigorous shaking of an LC jar kill or hurt the mycelium inside? My LC jars have a hole in the lid and a piece of tinfoil covering the lid. What I have tried doing is pluging the hole in the lid through the tinfoil with my finger and shaking madly. Doing so for about 2 minutes completely broke up the structure of mycelium inside, but afterwards it never regrew...it pretty much stayed broken up...

Should I not shake it like that and stick to the usual swirling method? (swirling method = shaking in a circle so as to create a vortex inside)

I realize that magnetic stirrers are best, but how does my way differ from magnetic stirrers if what I do also breaks up the mycelium into tiny fragments?

It generally isn't a super good idea to shake your myc like you would a can of paint...though I somewhat doubt you managed to kill them by doing this. And much like people, just give em time...they'll probably forgive ya.

No.

Shake as hard as you want. It is possible that while shaking a bacterial contam got in. Is the jar cloudy?
