dilema...
    #583340 - 03/19/02 02:12 PM (15 years, 7 days ago)

okay...I have one jar that is currently 99% colonized with equadorian strain. Problem is I'm leaving this saturday to go out of state and won't be back until next Wednesday night. Should I....

a) leave the cake in the jar until I return (which means the cake will be fully colonized and in the jar for a full week)

b) birth the cake saturday morning and place in the growth chamber with lid partially on (to allow CO2 exchange, but lowering humidity)

c) birth the cake and place in the growth chamber with lid completely on (not allowing gas exchange)

my logical answer would be to leave the cake in the jar, but is one week to long for a fully colonized cake to be left in such an environment?

Hey,

Id leave it in the jar and put in in the light to try to initiate pinning so when you birth it, its already pinning.I may be wrong though!

leave it in the jar. once a cake is fully colonized most leave it the jar an additional week anyway. you will only be helping your cake. it allows for stronger mycelial growth & invitro pinning
