caps turning black on first grow

My first grow is almost done. Then today I noticed some of caps were turning black before the veils had opened. I picked a couple so I could take a pic of them. Is this some type of bacteria or mold growing on them? Thanks for any help!

could be spores, if any of the veils were detatched, thats probably what caused it.
take a q-tip and rub the black spot(s). if anything comes off of the cap then its probably spores

I didn't think it was spores b/c I rubbed it with my finger and nothing came off. I took a qtip and did the same then but nothing seemed to come off. The veils have broken a little bit though. Also there seems to be this black ring developing at the base of the cap. Is this normal, because the veil is about to break? Thanks for the help!

The black is definitely not rubbing off, it's the color of the fruit. Could the mushies abort this late? Is that why some are starting to turn black? Thanks for all the help!

Those aren't aborts. Also, definitely not spores. It could be damage from water drips from above, or your mister might puke out a large drop or two along with the mist. Those will cause damage to the caps.
If you do see aborts, there's no need to pick as soon as you see them, because they'll take a couple of weeks to rot. RR
