slow mycelium colonization

Sorry to bother the forum again with pretty much the same question, but my jars colonized very rapidly and nicely and then...essentially stopped at 95%. The bottoms of the jars are barely moving, if at all...following this forum's advice, I turned the jars upside down. Nothing. Then I slapped the jars lightly to create space between bottom of jars and cake to encourage more air flow. Nothing. It's a shame, because I was sure the jars were all going to work out...
Temp in the room is about 80F. Any advice? Would putting them on a heating pad work? Can I burn uncolonized areas and birth them? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, patience is a virtue, I agree...but...they have been colonizing now for four weeks...which led to my concern. Does this seem too long generally? (I should add that they are 1 pint jars).

agreed.
besides turning them upside down... crack the lid 1/4 of a turn. not any more.
so upside down, with the band slightly loose.
then wait. seriously.. wait.
after 100% colonization, wait another 2-3 days to ensure that everything in the center is colonized as well.

yeah man, wait. I have jars that are just now finishing and I innculated them about three weeks ago, some are still only half done. If you are impatient, start more jars. Make some LC..

As mosntermitch told me once, start multiple projects. It will keep you busy and keep your mind off one thing. Trust me, it works.
Hell not even another shroom project. I just started playing guitar and I play that when I'm waiting on my stuff to grow.

you think colonizing is bad, the wait for them to dry is HORRIBLE
mine are in the dehydrator right now and i've got like 6 hours left and its driving me insane

Hi there, I'm new to this. I was wandering, how long did it take for you to spot initial signs of colonization? my grow is just under a week and I've got no sign so far. Temp is set to optimal using a thermostat. thanks

On my first grow, it took 8 days to spot growth in some jars, and about 15 days for all my jars to show life. The strains were Z-Strain, and B+. One jar didn't show any life after 2 and half or 3 weeks in, so I took it outside, dumped it, cleaned it, and placed it with my other jars.
4 weeks is a long time to be waiting. What's the strain? How did you store the spores?

How would you feel if aliens abducted you; measured, weighted, and probed you then returning you to your home and did the same thing, every 219 days from your conception until you were 18 years old? Well that's basically the same thing here.

lol. no, the wait to colonize is wayyy worse. they dry basicly overnight... and why are you in a hurry for them to dry anyways? you can eat them fresh.
mine always seem to take about a month to colonize >.>
