dry casing, need help!
    #5830643 - 07/07/06 06:07 AM (17 years, 6 months ago)

My casing is looking a bit dry, especially the bottom layer. I have alot of pins and knots on the casing and i know some teks advise lightly misting with a very fine spray. i don't know if doing that would be enough to rehydrate the bottom layer...how important is a moist base layer, and what can i do to rehydrate?? i was thinking of taking H20+H202 mix and injecting with syringe..does that sound like a good idea?

ok huge response!

well i took a syringe, sterilized it, loaded it with water and h2o2 and re-hydrated the casing. i also noticed that it was beginning to pull away from the sides of the tub. i tried to stick the needle in where there were no knots or pins.

anyways, ill let everyone know how it turns out

what i meant to say is that the bottom layer of vermiculite was dry, as was the CPOO on top of the verm.

i think that this way will work out as well since the extra moisture in the bottom will be sucked up and into the poo without the risk of killing (or aborting) knots and pins.
