I just inherited this the other day,I've had little experience with cacti and wasnt too sure.I cannot believe my luck
It is winter where I am at the moment, should I withhold water for the meanwhile?

depends on your environment. are you using artifical lighting? 1000 watt hps keep them growing all year in my experience. i know some people say they need down time but i dont agree.

No artificial lighting,it has been grown outside in full sun.At the moment it is under shelter because we have had some pretty mean frosts here in NZ..but all seems healthy.

The only other cacti I have are Lithops, but with all things if I look hard enough I should find the answers.
