Birdseed/Sunflower Seed/Millet/Whole-Grain HELP!!

Was just wondering if there is any other way to sterilize birdseed/millet/sunflower seeds/and whole-grain (whole grain white rice or whole grain brown rice) without using a pressure cooker. I do not have a pressure cooker and DO want to use those items as my substrate, but i cant seem to find a way to sterilize it , not in any of the forums atleast. Ive made a search for it and didnt seem to come up with any good finds.
Thanks for any help in advance.

Anno, to get those degree's of heat mentinoed in the link you replied with, cant i use a oven? and turn it up to lets sat 500? and let it sit for a little while, add some water to make sure that the grains will not fry, or turn balck on me, also so that the grains can take in some water which i believe is a good thing to do. So can ti use a oven to erach those temperatures?
