I have the same symptoms on two plants, wild dagga and a datura metel. The leaves turns yellow rapidly and falls off. Now I have 2 plants with a tall naked stem with only the top leaves on them. I have seen this happen to a brugmansia I have. What am I doing wrong here?

im having the same thing with my peppers. turns out i was watering them too much.
as far as i know it can be caused by lack of nutrition or too wet or too dry conditions.

okay this is the problem i have with garden manual's. they describe what you may have done wrong but not what is going on with the plant. ok lets begin. if you have yellowing leaves yes that can be a sign of overwatering but really what that means is they are either looking for nitrogen or phosphorous. overwatering is the same as leaching it drains the nutrients out of the medium you are working with. thus your plant has less absorbant food. so the yellowing doesnt exactly mean overwatering it means your plants are hungry. the reason they dont tell you this is because your average person overfeeds and the recommended dosages of food are too high on nutrients(which means you buy more). at the other end they tell you salt burn is underwatering(the burn on the tips of the leaves) yet its salt build up which means you need to leach. this is caused by overfeeding. too many salts(fertilizer) cause salt build up and ph imbalances. this so called garden manuals dont tell you whats going on they just presume. there all bullshit in my opinon.

you just need to know the nutrient requirments of the plants you grow.

yeah i dont think it can be overwatering. nutes sounds more logical , i have been giving both some ordinary synthetic nutes same as I give my common houseplants as I have no intention of consuming datura and wild dagga just doesnt work for me so I wont consume that one either. I have been giving them one of those substral sticks you put in the soil that provides nutes for 40 days or so. Im going to repot both of them today and see. Any suggestion for feeding these two species is appriciated.
