North Georgia Cubensis Finds (w/pics)

I went out to a promising new field this morning after a quarter inch of rain last night in Floyd County (~70 miles north of Atlanta) and found what I believe to be a couple of nice sized cubes, along with some smaller, older ones. There were also some nice fat pins popping out and it's supposed to rain a little today so hopefully I'll get a few fresher specimens tonight. I hunted this field for over an hour before I found these; absolutely everywhere I turned there were puffballs galore, but not until I had given up and was on my way out of this forested pasture did I find the cube hotspot. Since my first trips last summer I've been impatiently enduring the lack of shroomyness around here and eagerly anticipating my first active find, so when it finally happened this morning I was a tad joyous. I spotted the biggest one first and knew it was paydirt - so I walked over, sank to my knees, sighed heavily, and retrieved the Fiskers from my asspocket to begin the wee but exciting harvest.

Well done. Nice shots of the bluing. I probably would just toss those super rotten ones, but most of them look good.

Yeah, some of those look dangerously old, but nice find. You've found the biggest GA haul so far this season, congratulations!
