Easy solution (yeah right)
    #5826711 - 07/06/06 06:01 AM (17 years, 10 months ago)

What would happen if the US dropped all UN support/protection for Israel and Taiwan in return for Russia and China dropping all UN support/protection for North Korea and Iran.

It seems to me that there are some little counties causing some really big problems because they know they can play the big countries against one another. If the big countries decided to suddenly end their protection of these little problem makers, what would the global results be?

well, its my guess that it would result in the US attacking North Korea and Iran, and China attacking Taiwan (Russia is somewhat of a wild card)

Not protection from attacks, but no more "we will veto any UN resolution that is anti-XXXXX" ... insert countries as appropriate.

It just seems to me that certain countries are taking advantage of the US, China, and Russia and that for whatever reason, these three countries are allowing it.

The real problem is that China and Russia often feel they have to support regimes like Iran and North Korea in order to prevent a different kind of US invasion, the kind led by McDonalds, Walmart, and Starbucks.

So long as China and Russia will support nations who don't allow market access, have poor human rights records, and a generally anti-business attitude, then there are parts of the world (most of them very close to China and Russia) where US Multinationals haven't gotten yet. Take that away, and many in China and Russia feel that they will suffer a massive defacto US victory throughout the world.

So, if China and Russia stopped vetoing all UN resolutions relating to those nations, there would probably be improved human rights, improved market access, and then a massive invasion by US multinationals.

The only reciprocation would probably be in Israel, who would finally be condemned for their actions (without the US veto) and would probably be subjected to some kind of inspections (again without the US veto)

Makes sense... follow the money, the ultimate motivator. Basically, it isn't in Russia or China's best interests (as they see it) for peace between the US and these other countries? Something for me to think about. Thanks.

Israel has a very powerful lobby group in the USA (AIPAC) and some say it is the most powerful lobby group in the world. America is constantly looking out for Israel and giving them billions in aid and weapons, but not many people can figure out why, but I would suggest it is closely related to said lobby group. If the USA today cut off Israel, they would be in trouble. Not to much though, they do have a large arsenal of nuclear weapons. I don't think they would hesitate to use them, once they started being over run by Muslims.

Taiwan would be invaded by China over night.

North Korea would be wiped off the map, their crazy leader would probably nuke their country to "scorch the earth" after an invasion started.

Iran would probably stay in a similar situation to one its in now. The US maybe would start launching attacks from Iraq, but I think they have to much on their plate to deal with Iran ATM.

Exactly right. As long as the Zionists have such a strong presence in American politics, we'll never pull our suicidal support for Israel. If we did, we'd have a lot less problems.

Can you really include walmart on that list? What problem would china have with 10 walmarts in every city on earth, dont they supply all/most walmart products? Seems to me like if the US markets had access to countries like iran it would help china; our markets are their markets too.

Dude, jews are a huge part of american society and culture. They participate in american economy and american life in general in big ways. Israel is also one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world. Its not some underground ultra-powerful lobby, just look around you, im sure you know some jews even if you are not aware of it. Its the same reason we aid britain, even though the british have probably done much worse things than israel in the past.

The problem is that Chinese consumers are now buying goods from Walmarts opening in China, which means profits flowing overseas to America so that Chinese can buy products made in China. Meanwhile, there have been a handful of Chinese superstores that have opened, in China, which cannot compete with Walmart. Thus, China would like to see the Chinese superstores proliferate, which cannot happen so long as Walmart is in business.

China wants its products sold throughout the world, but it wants to reap corporate-level profits from them.

No and No. As to the notion by the Duck that Zionists (all 6 of them) control the US, well, how does it feel to be inferior?
