It's not likely to break it, but it's not going to get it sparkly clean.
If you want nice and clean, mix rubbing alcohol with copious amounts of salt, until it makes a loose gritty slush... then swirl the slush around. The salt helps scrub the surfaces, aiding the alcohol's dissolvation of the grime

Yeah, use rubbing alcohol or pick up some denatured alcohol at Home Depot.

NOT a good idea to boil it. There is a chance that it will break. happened with two of my pipes. It does get them very clean i will say that, but then it broke. I thought that it was just that pipe and then it happened again. alcohol and salt. let it soak. it works like a charm. zero risk.

Best way for sure. Works everytime for almost any kind of pipe.

What I do is whack it in warm water, and get some household cleaner that cuts through grease, then whack a bottle brush in there. Once its decently clean You can shove it in the dishwasher for a sparkly cleaness

rubbing alcohol + rice...and swirl it( alcohol will loosen the debris and the rice will knock it off) same way as cleaning a bong.

yah, just to reiterate, boiling water and high temps weaken glass. Also, placing a cold piece of glass into a boiling pot of water can be enough to shatter it.

my method involves a completely submerged soak in denatured alcohol. everything rinses out with running water after about 3 days. any less time and you have to use some granules or swabs to actually remove the residue though it comes off extremely easy.
