I do not have personal experience with quinoa but it's often touted as being nutrient-rich. From what I understand you can fruit it directly if you want.

well i learned it probably should be soaked like grains, you can't just mix it in dry with a pf cake... so as to germinate any bacterial endospores... 'else you get the bacteria pretty easy. learned that the hard way did some jars with and some without hoping to compare, all the ones without were fine but about half of the ones with stalled half way thru stinking to high hell. have the good jars with it colonized but they've been hanging out in the fridge waiting for their turn in the FC, don't know exactly when i'll get a chance to fruit and sample said fruits but it should be pretty soon
ill definitely be soaking, straining, then adding it to the mix in the future.

if you wanna play with quinoa I'd look up the Alien TEK... it's what I first used and well damn, it was awesome! Everywhere there was quinoa mixed in the mycelium just blew up.

my quinoa experience:
it was good, just simply mixing about 10% or less quinoa to rye grains.
difference in colonization at that ratio: none visibly noted. difference in potency at that ratio: who the hell can tell with shrooms?
i usually do the above when im feeling rather bored with the typical rye/wbs jars. can i tell a difference?: no can you tell a difference?: maybe, but probably no do your mushrooms like the change of substrates from time to time: definitely yes

yes.
I find it expensive and more hassle than it is worth. If making cakes, I suggest sticking to the brf/verm method. creamcorn has a few good suggestions there about speeding things up a bit in his signiture. give that a shot.

well I am beyond the PF stage imo. I have had much better luck with wbs but I have been looking into alternate substraights and grow tecs. After this next grow with pan.cyan. I am going to try wood lovers, mabey even try it indoors.
