i have not had any luck with these the past 2 seasons, and i regularly check out a few fields and horse pastures in the area. My question is are pan subbs common enough in northern nj to be worth looking for? or is it simply not worth the trouble to be looking for actives. btw, i usually come across tons of other species in my journeys, just nothing i would ever consider eating....

Just keep learning about them and looking - the more you absorb the better.
They can be found up there, I wouldn't doubt it at all.
It's a matter of being in the right place at the right time.

Sounds good - one of my favorite spots to pick subbs is in a horse park, which is full of endless horse pastures and it is all open to the public!

Delaware - I do a lot of hunting in PA, NJ, and MD though as I am within 10 mins from each state.
