This is the unfortunate result of a bunk z-strain syringe

I would say this is an issue with my methods, but I'm sure it isn't. First of all, I got 3 different strains and inoculated 6 jars (2 each) at the same time. The only jars that became contaminated was the z-strain jars. And secondly, I made Liquid cultures of all the strains. There is a growth in the z-strain culture that appears to be thin and stringy, like a mature dandelion. It is certainly not myc. the other two haven't started growth yet, but this is normal as I only inoculated 3 days ago.
Thank you for taking time to read my venting. I also needed this forum to give the folks at the vendor proof of my claims.

I wasn't going to use the name of the vendor until I got a response one way or another. As you can see, this is a good company to deal with.
spores101.com has earned a repeat customer.
thank you again.

How are you blaming a bunk syringe when that jar was prepared obviously too wet? Look at the verm stuck to the glass near the top. The top layer of verm is supposed to be DRY. Otherwise, you have no filter. No filter means any contaminants in the air get to your substrate.
It's great that the vendor will replace it in the interest of relations, but you need to clean up your technique. RR

agreed. That is your fault. Your pictures and ranting have proved that you are to blame, not the vendor.
Take the bullet, don't suck free merchandise from a vendor, and learn how to follow a tek.

Even I agree with that. Also, I needed to throw this in because I'm tired of seeing it. Can't something be done about people repeatedly bashing perfectly good vendors and using it as an opportunity to champion their own personal fav? No matter which sponsor, they all sponsor this place, help keep it running, and do us all a damn lot of favors. Just wondering why the mods don't remove that shit as it has nothing to do with the thread and is a real insult to the vendors who sponsor us.

Removing posts would be censorship, which would look equally bad. It's a catch 22. I think he got the message that the jar was prepared improperly, and other new growers can learn a lesson from that picture, so it served a valuable purpose, in that it might help them avoid the same mistake.
Let's move on now. RR
