Harvesting In Bags?

I was wondering if it possible to grow in the bag and not worry about cutting the bag open, casing or putting in a fruiting chamber. I am asking this specifically because I did not read anywhere that you could fruit inside the bag for the mushbox grow bag. Does anyone have any knowledge on this?

I would assume that so long as there is propper air exchange/light/humidity/temperature the bag would indeed begin to fruit on its own....though I've not done this first hand, so dont really know.

There is actually an Oven Bag Tek. Where you put your casing into an oven bag and then pasturize it. Then you would cut it open and inoculate it and put a filter/patch over your hole in which you used to inoculate. Then simply let the mycellium colonate, then you add another filter/patch and put your colonized bag into an FC. I've tried this tek but I was unsuccessful, I didnt even get colonization but who knows maybe it can work?
This is about the closest thing I've found to what I think your trying to describe. I would just stick with casings man there isnt any huge advantages to a tek like this, if they even work?

It looks like theres ways to do, it gives examples at the bottem of how to get the bags to fruit.
This is a link to my favorite supply website, they offer pre-prepared jars. Earths Tounge Pre-Prepared Jars Obviously your looking for something pre-prepared. This is what I would recommend, they even give you free spores with the pack of 6 jars. All you have to do is inolculate them and put them in a closet. Once they colonize you can do a few things.
1. Keep them in cake form and introduce them into a fruiting chamber (FC) and let them fruit
2. Do a grain transfer, empty the colonized jars into a monotub or something like it spread it out and case it. You will get much much more mushys with this method vs. cake. Both methods are extremely easy and with this one you get much more product.
Pretty much anyone and everyone will tell you this is the best way, because it is. I would reccomend this, maybe start with cakes if you want but like I said its not any easier or better.

judging by what I read about that bag from the instructions for fruiting non cubensis mushrooms, it would appear that the bag you linked to doesn't provide the propper air exchange to allow for fruiting, and would require a sepperate fruiting chamber.

It shows on the bag that it has an air exchange patch. Would this not be enough?

I'm fruiting a couple grain bags from mycofactory with Texas strain right now. I knew I'd be out of town a lot and I figured I'd give the bags a shot since they seemed low maintenance. At any rate, I'm fruiting in the bags right now.. just picked about 30 grams wet. So far I'm very impressed with the bags. They took longer to colonize that normal PF jars, but I think the end result will be much better. I'm gonna try and make my own bags next time around, just gotta decide what goodies to put in them.

SWIM says you can absolutely harvest in bags, unless it is a wood lover. All PC"s are doable, some take longer than others or are more finnicky. Read up on myco bags thru the search engine here and you will find all the info you need. Beware, some vendors bags are better than others.
