Tobacco effects on dreams?

I'm the kind of guy that can remember at least 2 dreams every night, and usually very vividly. More often than not I can remember 3 or 4. But lately I haven't been able to remember anything when I wake up.
I recently started smoking cancer sticks a lot more heavily and I was wondering if maybe that has something to do with it? That is the only thing I can think of that I have changed in my life recently. Has anybody else had experiences like this with cigs? I'm thinking of just quitting for a few weeks to see if my dream memory comes back, and if so I'll quit permanently. I love being able to remember a lot of dreams very well and if I wake up and can't replay some of them I feel like I've been cheated out of something.
So what do you people think? Could it be the cigs? Possibly something else? Help me out, cause I miss my dreams!

i would bet on it, most anti smoking nicotine patches warn you that if youre having vivid dreams not to wear them at night.
