Filtered incubator?

Living in the basement of a two story townhouse while owning a dog, I've been doing all I can for the past couple months to prepare the house for my first PF cake grow. Even after bleaching down the entire basement, getting a dehumidifier, air-purifier, etc, I'm still very weary about the whole contam issue. My roommates are fairly messy and it simply seems so easy for mildew/mold to start growing in our place.
An idea I had for my incubator was to duct tape a large very high-end home air-filter that can filter out mildew/mold spores, allergens, pet dander and pollen to the top of the rubbermaid container. Do you guys think this will have any benefit? The other option I've been weighing is to do the incubation and fruiting in the shade of our outside patio. Our place is far from clean with the dog and 3 guys. Any ideas or comments? Thanks!

IMO you can never be to careful, but the cat sure does like laying by the incubator and my FC. Just take extra steps to keep it clean and you should be fine. I have had few contam problems. For me the layer of verm on the jars below the lid usually holds up pretty well. You might want to see what else everyone else says, but like I said it hasn't been much of an issue for me.

if it is a fruiting chamber . get a tub with a clear lid drill a whole big enough for a fish tank pump hose. get a fishtank pump with a check valve(has a filter in side of it. dril a hole in the other side . cover the hole with poly fil if you want but there should be a flow coming out from the pump.

No, I'm talking about the actual incubator. I'm going to move my fc out to the shade of our outdoor patio. It's the incubator that must stay in our basement that I'm most concerned about.

i wouldn't worry about filtering the air in your incubator.

It seems like the top layer of verm is the greatest protection.
Small amounts of water seep through the cracks in the basement. It's been a never-ending fight against mildew/mold. The spores have to be EVERYWHERE in the basement. I'm going to go ahead and try it without the filter though. Thanks!

make sure you have filter disc or poly fill and tin foil not open holes in jars
