i'm going to an anime convention this friday-sunday and am hoping to get a gram of shrooms beforehand to make it an incredible experience. i plan to take either .5grams for 2 days or the whole 1. i am of course going to have sober friends with me so i will be safe.
really im just wondering, has anyone gone to a sci-fi convention or any place thats trippy (circus, sports game, carnival, skatepark) while on shrooms/lsd? sci-fi cons are probably the most trippy because of all the geeks dressed up as their favorite anime characters.

Dude, I can't handle Sci-Fi cons when I'm sober.
Geeks dressed as their favorite anime characters are "trippy"!?!
Personally I don't find anything trippy about 35 year old overweight men wearing nothing but a diaper (yes, I actually saw that) or the fact that many conventions need a "weapons check" on the way in (also something I have personally witnessed). Why you need to bring your crossbow AND your broadsword (or why you even own them) are a perpetual mystery to me.
Do yourself a favor and just save the shrooms for a concert.

If I were you I'd go for it. But I'd eat the whole gram at once. I'm all for experiencing different things while tripping, it keeps the trips eventful/memorable and keeps them from getting boring.
Go for it dude, and have a fucking blast!

economist you should note that the con i go to is a very humble ceremony, only 4 years old and run by a 25 year old. its very friendly and open, hell i bought a fucking shuriken and torches last year, not to mention the most disturbing hentai ever... ~shudder~..... insect porn (ACCIDENT I SWEAR!!). and this con IS trippy. the floor is bright and patterned, everyone in cosplay is very well dressed and all are teenagers. its a great place to just say "wow, awesome". i hope my amanitas come by friday..... =)

Amanitas are quite different from shrooms. In fact, a gram probably won't do anything whatsoever. Plus amanitas are shrooms you don't want to be doing anything while you are on them. If you achieve amanita intoxication, it is a dreaming effect. You actually go to sleep and have the visions.
Wow, I like it how we have a closed minded person in this thread already. "I saw a 35 year old man in diapers...Why would you wanna see that? You are gonna have the exact same experience as me." HAHA, real smart thinking there Economist.
Get some real shrooms or acid would be even better.

In my defense I'd like to point out that when he claimed his con was different he immediately cited buying weapons on the floor as well as insect-based Hentai.
I'm sorry but all SciFi cons with a heavy dose of anime really are the same to a certain extent.
It's like a zoo. Is it fun to go to a zoo? Yes. Are there certain animals you expect to see at every zoo regardless of which one you're visiting? Definitely.

Assuming makes an ass of you and me. Don't assume, man.
Didn't he explain to you how this one was? You read the part you wanted to about weapons and whatnot. Did you not read the rest of his post? Please don't tell someone's future to them, you aren't a psychic are you? And if so, talk to Randy.
I think a con could be very fun. I have tripped at many events before and had good times. Costumes are a plus, especially if you happen to really enjoy Sci-Fi or Anime characters.
Tripping is all about what you enjoy, if he enjoys it, all the better for him.

mecreateme, you are completely right.
I didn't realize how close-minded I had become. I think it's mostly because I tried to introduce some of my own friends to tripping recently (I have others I already trip with, these were new people I wanted to "let in") and they totally reject me. They also happened to be friends of mine who were way into SciFi (just like me).
It was so shocking to me that people who seemed to be so open to new possibilities (after all, aren't all SciFi fans inherently open to new things?) could be so narc-ish.
But there's no reason for others to be that way. Infact, conventioneers are probably more receptive to entheogens. I guess I need to move past my own experience and try to send more good vibes to others.

the sci-fi con may be cool, but it must be stressed again that amanitas are not "shrooms." the active ingredient is different. even if you did have real shrooms, .5g or 1g would be a pretty low dose. for amanitas, that will be like nothing as far as i know.
