Combining A few things here or there I decided to try a new way of pasteurizing h/poo. Now that I am attempting bulk grows I need to have poo on hand at all times. So this is what I have come up with. Its quick and it works.
Using my PC pot I fill the entire pot to the top with aged h/poo that has dried, then fill the pot with water to cover the top of the h/ poo. Cook on low temps for about a hour, stirring the chunk's and breaking down the poo to smaller pieces and re-hydrate. Never letting the water get to warm (able to put my hand in at all times) From there I dump the h/poo& water mix into a large holes strainer (my helper found this part amusing as the poo does make some noise as it is falling) Let strain for a few min stirring with a large spoon. This allows you to take out any foreign objects and break the chunks up into smaller pieces. From the strainer (and this is where the real work comes in) I put my poo into a pillow case- any durable bag will work as long as it has the ability to drain water (rinsing out every other batch or so allowing better straining) with about 2-3 lb. per batch. I wrap the poo up tightly in the pillow case spinning the top half tight so there is no play in the bag. Then I use a mop bucket and strainer to strain the poo through the pillow case. The pressure of the strainer forces water out and the pillow case prevents the poo from escaping the large holes. Then I put the well drained poo into a vacuum sealed bag filling 3/4 full and seal the bag will a little bit of air still inside the bag. Then I put my 3lb bags into my PC on top of the metal rack and place a plate over the top of the bags. -helps keep the bags weighed down. Using a hanger i fashion a holder for a candy thermometer (can not be submerged) Heat to 160 degrees and watch the thermometer constantly adjusting temp to prevent reaching 180 then when done you can let cool and use ASAP, or store in vacuum sealed bad w/ out air. This way you do not feel as though you are cohabiting with a smelly horse.
Well I hope this helps, If anyone has a way to make this better Let me know. OR if you don't understand I might be able to get some pics up to show it a little better.

Sounds like a good way to do it, but all I can think of is the mess that comes along with it.
You know, for a hobby that requires such sterile enviornments working with mushroom is a dirty task.

LOL that was one of the first things I thought when I started this all. But surprisingly it was more messy with help then with out. And as long as you are cleaning up as you go along (and the mop bucket doesn't spill) It isn't really too bad. :0)
